Probo Medical is thrilled to begin regularly donating ultrasound systems and probes to underserved communities in countries with little or no access to basic healthcare. We are excited to launch this outreach initiative that we hope will impact thousands of lives across the world.

Our mission is to provide high-quality reconditioned ultrasound equipment responsibly to hospitals and other qualified facilities globally to improve access to life-saving medical imaging.

The existing supply of quality equipment donated to charitable organizations or available for low cost is failing to meet the growing demand. As a leading remanufacturer of ultrasound equipment, Probo Medical is working with multiple charities to meet the needs of patients worldwide. We believe that medical waste can and will be transformed into medical miracles!

Our first donation was a Siemens Antares unit and probes to Otino Waa Children’s Village just outside Lira, Uganda. This machine will be used mainly in an OB/GYN capacity and our hope is that it can help save thousands of lives throughout Northern Uganda! The Otino Waa medical and dental clinic serves the children, staff, and mothers of Otino Waa as well as the surrounding villages. See below for a few recent pictures of the lively community at Otino Waa, which houses almost 300 children:

We are so excited to have come alongside the staff and community at Otino Waa for our first donation. Stay tuned for updates on our regular, sustainable donation process. Next up: a recap of our recent vision trip to Haiti!
